Program Directors

CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Susan G. Willard, LCSW, has worked in the field of eating disorders for the past 25 years. Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the Tulane University School of Medicine, she first developed her specialized program in 1982. Since that time, Ms. Willard has become known for her patient advocacy, her commitment to patients, and her career in teaching. Her pioneering treatment philosophy, prolific lecturing, and clinical research, along with her wealth of experience, have distinguished her professionally and given her a national reputation of excellence in the field of eating disorders.  In 2001, The Eating Disorders Treatment Center opened at River Oaks Hospital representing the pinnacle of her work. The Center represents the ultimate in state of the art, comprehensive treatment of eating disorders. In 2006, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award given by the National Eating Disorders Association.

MEDICAL DIRECTOR

George C. Daul, Jr., MD, is a board certified psychiatrist and eating disorders specialist. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He and Susan Willard have worked together since 1987. Their collective expertise has served to assist thousands of eating disordered patients from around the country in their recovery. Dr. Daul is experienced and skilled in the inpatient management of eating disorders and is an expert in the psycho-pharmacological aspects of treatment.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Marion McGavran, GSW, obtained her Master's Degree in Social Work from Tulane University. She began working at River Oaks Hospital in 2003 and assumed the position of Program Director on the Eating Disorders Unit in January 2006.

SENIOR NUTRITIONIST

Jan Johnson, R.D., LDN is the Senior Nutritionist for The Eating Disorders Treatment Center at River Oaks Hospital. Ms. Johnson is a pioneer in addressing the nutritional aspects of anorexia, bulimia and related eating disorders. She has lectured nationally and is recognized for her advocacy in the multi disciplinary treatment of eating disordered patients. She began her eating disorders specialization in 1984 working with Susan Willard.

CONSULTANT-MALE PROGRAM

Mark Roloff, LCSW, BCD has worked with Susan Willard and George Daul in the treatment of eating disorders for many years. He has specialized in family therapy and men's issues, and developed the Eating Disorders Program for Males at River Oaks Hospital. He lectures nationally both on family therapy and on the treatment for males.
